In Nepal Plane Crash a total number of 68 passengers and four crew members 
were on board the Yeti airlines aircraft that crashed between the old airport and the Pokhara Airport reports said.


Nepal: At least 68 passengers and four crew members were killed in a Nepal plane crash between the old airport and Pokhara airport.

A 72-seated Yeti airlines plane crashed on the runway at Pokhara international airport in Nepal on Sunday. Rescue operations are underway and ther airport is closed for the time being, the plane was going to Pokhara from Kathmandu. A total of 68 passengers and four crew members were on board the Yeti airlines plane that crashed between the old airport and the Pokhara airport.

The Kathmandu Post report said  There were 5 Indians among 15 foreign passengers onboard the Yeti Airlines flight. According to initial reports, the plane crashed when it was attempting to land at the Pokhara Airport amid bad weather conditions

Reports said further that the plane caught fire as it was on the runway. Images and videos posted on social media showed plumes of smoke coming out from the crash site.




Indian External Affairs minister EAM S Jaishankar Deeply grieved about the air crash in Nepal's Pokhara

External affairs minister  S Jaishankar expressed grief over the Nepal plane crash in Pokhara on Sunday and said "our thoughts are with the affected families".  A Nepalese passengers plane with 72 people on board including 5 Indians, crashed into a river George while landing at the newly opened airport in Central Nepal's resort city of Pokhara on Sunday, killing at least 68 passengers and four crew members.


According to the civil aviation authority of Nepal the Yeti Airlines plane  9N ANC ATR-72 aircraft had taken off from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan international airport at 10:30 am, Pokhara is a major tourist destination in the Himalayas nation.



 "Deeply grieved on hearing about the air crash in Pokhara Nepal our thought are with affected families," S Jaishankar said in a tweet. Five Indians were among the 15 foreigners on board the plane, the Indians Embassy said in a tweet. Their fate is not immediately known.
